I love summer wines. Riesling is my favorite, and while Germany is supposed to produce the best, I think Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York Rieslings can be every bit as good as any I've had from the banks of the Rhine or Mosel. Today's wine is a Riesling from The Winery at Spring Hill in Geneva County, Ohio. This non-vintage example is made in what I like to think of as the "grapefruit" style, which means it is fresh, tart, not overly sweet, but certainly not dry, either. This style is especially refreshing on hot, humid days, and goes well with fish and chicken. I bought mine at Vintage Ohio last year, but you might find it at any wine store or supermarket that carries an extensive selection of Ohio wines. But if you can't find a retail outlet, I'm sure you can buy it at the winery. Here's a link to their web site: http://www.thewineryatspringhill.com/
