The Artful Cupcake

Northeast Ohio pastry chefs and foodies will unite at the Art Therapy Studio’s 19th Creative Confections Dessert Competition at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 7, at Cleveland’s Skyline Lake Room at the Ariel International Center. With the theme “The Artful Cupcake,” area pastry chefs have been challenged to create cupcakes inspired by art and design, bringing delicious creativity to the event’s guests.

This event is the Art Therapy Studio’s major fundraiser of the year. Proceeds support the studio’s programs at MetroHealth, the Cleveland Clinic, the VA Hospital and many other social service agencies. These programs provide those who have suffered from illnesses or traumatic events self-expression and the opportunity for tremendously valuable healing and growth.

The judges who will be taste testing the pastry chefs’ creations are a select group of chefs and foodies, including honorary chair Doug Katz, Cleveland restaurateur and the mastermind behind the popular Fire Food & Drink, Katz Club Diner and Provenance restaurant at the Cleveland Museum of Art.
