Chef Benjamin Walsh (far right), from The Wooster Inn, was named the 2012 Grand Champion. He will represent the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank at the 2014 Super Bowl’s national Taste of the NFL event.
The new event center at the Pro Football Hall of Fame served as the venue for the fifth annual Taste of the NFL event, Sept. 28, benefiting the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank. Over 500 guests raised funds to support hunger relief efforts in Northeast Ohio.
Hall of Fame Enshrinees — including Chris Doleman, Floyd Little, Dave Wilcox, Tom Mack, Randall McDaniel, John Randle, Roger Wehrli, Billy Shaw, Jim Taylor and Kellen Winslow – mingled with guests and signed autographs.
Top area chefs competed for the title of Grand Champion, which was awarded to Chef Benjamin Walsh, of The Wooster Inn. California’s Meeker Vineyards was the featured winery.
