The 16th annual Summa Health Sapphire Ball was a great success Oct. 21 at the John S. Knight Center in downtown Akron. The event commemorated Summa Health’s 125th anniversary and raised $1.3 million to benefit the Dr. Gary B. and Pamela S. Williams Center for Breast Health.
The popular annual gala has raised a total of more than $10 million since its inauguration in 2001, a record for the health system. Dee and Rennick Andreoli chaired the event, with Dr. Melanie Lynch and Dr. Gilbert Padula serving as physician chairs, and Sandy and Tony Solaro heading a corporate committee of some 20 Akron-area business and community leaders.
