Shaun of the dead
Cleveland Cinemas announces its third annual all-night horror movie marathon, 12 Hours of Terror, to be held at The Capitol Theatre on October 20, 2012 from 10 PM – 10 AM as part of the on-going Melt Bar & Grilled Late Shift.
This year’s 12 Hours of Terror promises to be the most blood-soaked one yet with screenings of the original versions of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) and Fright Night (1985), Terror Train (1980) starring scream-queen Jamie Lee Curtis plus two modern horror comedies Slither (2006) and Shaun of the Dead (2004). A highlight of the evening will be a rare showing of Jaws 3D (1983). This new digital 3D print from Universal Studios will allow horror fans a chance to experience the film on the big screen for the first time in nearly 30 years in its original 3D format. As with past 12 Hours of Terror events, the evening will include a surprise mystery showing. No one will know what the final film in the line-up will be until the film hits the screen.
“12 Hours of Terror is my favorite sleepless night,” says Dave Huffman, Cleveland Cinemas Director of Marketing and 12 Hours of Terror coordinator. “It’s been a blast doing this every year at the Capitol. Our line-up of films is incredibly fun this year so people will be screaming and laughing all night long.”
All 12 Hours of Terror features will be shown in the main auditorium of the renovated Capitol Theatre in perfect HD projection and digital sound. Attendees in need of a break from the scares can retreat to one of the Capitol’s upstairs auditoriums which will be dubbed “Cowards Corner” for the night. “Cowards Corner” will feature showings of random classic cartoons and TV shows allowing scaredy cats to gather their nerve.
RJ, the movie critic from ESPN Radio’s Really Big Show will be on hand to introduce the films and give out door prizes including DVD’s, haunted house passes and movie tickets between features.
Tickets for 12 Hours of Terror are $25 in advance and $30 day of show. Admission includes a complimentary continental breakfast. No one under 18 will be admitted. Tickets are available at the Capitol Theatre box office and www.clevelandcinemas.com.
